Lakefront Summer Festival
Don’t miss Columbia Lakefront Stage Summer Festival this August. Find a free concert happening most nights throughout the week. You can enjoy listening to bands in the classic rock, jazz, funk, blues, South American and folk genres. Or check out their free movie nights every Monday and Friday in August. You can view the calendar of events here, Columbia Association. There’s even free dance lessons available. Get to this festival from The Vine within 10-15 minutes.
Firefly Family Hike at MPEA
Head over to the Robinson Nature Center on August 11th for an evening hike through the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area (MPEA). MPEA is Howard County’s “largest environmental area of over 1,000 acres.” Enjoy hiking while watching the sunset. You’ll feel like a kid again while you search for fireflies. Free Movie Night on the Plaza
Nothing says summer more than an outdoor movie. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets for a movie under the stars on August 15th at Clarksville Commons Shopping Center. They’ll be presenting Wonder Woman at 8:30. This event is free but get there early to claim your spot. The Vine is less than 15 minutes from this entertaining event.
Trails & Ales Running Meet Up
Hosted by Charm City Run, located roughly 15 minutes from The Vine, meet at their store for a three to five mile run ending at Hysteria Brewing Company. Meet some local runners, hit up the food trucks and enjoy a beer on the house. This event is free and will be on August 16th. Can’t make it this month? Mark your calendar for the third Thursday of every month.
Revive!
Foodies and beer lovers don’t want to miss this event. Maryland’s award-winning beers and restaurants as well as top chefs will be under the same roof. On August 25th, you can listen to bluegrass while you dine on high-end food. Each dish will be paired with the best local beers. Taking place at The Shrine of St. Anthony, you can get here from The Vine within 20 minutes.
