Get in Touch With Nature at These Parks in Howard County

The sun is out and the weather is warm making it a perfect time to get outside. When you live at The Vine, you’re surrounded by nature. Step outside and explore these parks in Howard County.

Cedar Lane Park

Cedar Lane Park is Howard County’s go-to sport complex park. Run around on turf fields, ball diamonds, playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment. Or head to the volleyball, bocce, basketball and tennis courts. You’ll find an activity for everyone at this park, including your dog. Play your favorite sport at this park less than 20 minutes from The Vine.

Middle Patuxent Environmental Area

Home to the largest parkland in Howard County with more than 1,000 acres. It is a “forever protected” area with diverse wildlife. You’ll find 150 different bird species, 40 mammals, various amphibians, reptiles, fishes, butterflies, plants and more. Head here for a hike with a 15-20 minute drive from The Vine.

Centennial Park

This 337 acre park with its man-made lake is home to a variety of wildlife and birds. This park is great for fishing, picnicking, outdoor sports, boating or walking the lake view trail. Don’t forget to bring along your dog to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Get here within 20 minute from The Vine.

Lake Elkhorn Park

Take a bike ride or stroll around Lake Elkhorn with this two mile trail that loops around the lake. While on the trail, you’ll find various exercise stations with different fitness activities to try. Relax and get your fitness on at this park just 15 minutes from The Vine.
